It’s extremely ironic that on the day we elect the first black president of the United States, 70% of black voters in California voted to ban gay marriage by amending their state constitution.

    remember he was a southern minister — he probably would have agreed with the ban.

      Yup, that is also very ironic. It shows that it was not actual equality for all people the civil rights movement was about. Rather, it was about rights for blacks.
