The Day After Tomorrow Review

30 May

I thought it sucked balls..just got back from seeing it.
The only enjoyable part was the tornados tearing the fuck out of LA, and the waves against New York City. The rest of the movie felt like: Snowstorm: The movie.

I mean..the film was SO pathetic in terms of finding drama…that get this:

They need to resort to wolves escaping from the zoo to add a movie about THE FUCKING END OF THE WORLD.

and if thats not enough..they give the lead girl a fucking INFECTED BOO BOO to add drama..once a movie ABOUT THE END OF THE WORLD..are the writers THAT inept that in a film about the entire northern hemisphere of the entire world perishing in -150 degree temperatures they have to have WOLVES ESCAPING FROM A ZOO for drama??? Jesus christ! and a friggin’ infected foot??????????????????

Having the little boy with cancer was really like a slap your forehead moment too..reminds me of AIRPLANE! when they had the little girl who needed a new heart on the plane. Again, there is plenty of pathos to be found in hundreds of millions of people being instantly frozen to not have to resort to the emotional heart string of little boy with cancer.

The wolves looked fake as shit too.

So in summary…walk into the the utterly convincing and breathtaking devastation of LA..then walk out and watch shrek 2 or something.

Dont get me started on the tree hugging preaching either. The world plunged into an ice age within the lifetime of humanity without the aid of fossil fuel burning and hairspray and Styrofoam, and it will do so again.

    Reviews of this one sucked…
I was thinking of seeing it, but from what I’ve heard it sucks ass. You’re the 4th person to say so.
The next ice age should be in about 800 years or so right?

    So what did you expect…
…”from the director of ‘Independence Day?'” That was, after all, the movie that had a human computer interfacing and passing a program to an alien computer, even though various brands of human computers often can’t talk to EACH OTHER!
From what I’ve heard, what little of the movie’s climate-change scenario that can actually happen, can happen over a period of decades, not days. The rest, like the bit about the Gulf Stream current completely stopping, is hooey.

You don’t know me, but for a while now I’ve known about your GunKata site, and only today when I looked at it did I come across your livejournal. Just wanted to say that you site is awesome… It’s hard to find people that actually liked that movie were I live.
